MCA OSCAR WANJE DISTRIBUTES GOVERNMENT RELIEF FOOD TO GANDA WARD RESIDENTS

As drought intensifies in many parts of the Kenya, the hunger situation escalates to the extreme worst levels leading to dire need for food for many families in Kilifi County.

In response to alleviating the worsening situation that has led to many families to live several days without food and water, the Kilifi County government flagged a relief food program to the most affected areas that drought, hunger and thirst has ravaged.

Ganda Ward , under the leadership of honorable Oscar Iha Wanje on 25th Oct 2022, kicked off this exercise by distributing relief food to over 1000 families in Ganda ward that have immensely been affected by hunger as a result of the intense drought.

Hon. Oscar Wanje with the support of the Malindi constituency legislator Amina Mnyazi, the County government of Kilifi under H.E governor Gideon Mung’aro among other supportive organs like Red Cross made sure that residents of Ganda Ward are relieved from the starvation they’ve experienced for a while now.

“I am grateful to the devolved government, our Governor H.E Gideon Mung’aro for the quick response to the rising issue of hunger & Famine. I would also like to acknowledge the Malindi MNA Hon Amina, The DCC Red cross volunteers and all who oversaw this process.” Said Oscar.

Oscar Wanje managed to ensure that only the needy are given first priority in accessing relief food fairly and without descrimination.

Accompanied by Malindi Member of Parliament representative, Ganda ward administrator and administrative leaders in the area inclusion of Chiefs and village elders, the Ganda ward most beloved MCA, distributed food to the needy people of Mbogolo,Mgurureni(Ganda Sub-location), Mere Sub-location, Msabaha and Keresha area in Kijiwetanga Sub-location.

Additionally, Oscar Wanje managed to call on the families whose houses were demolished earlier this month at Pendukiani and informed them on the legal progress of their case.

Oscar having been born and raised in poverty striken background to put into summary – hardship world and having practically experienced hunger effect has promised the beloved people of Ganda ward and Kilifi County at large that he’ll push for agendas and pass laws that will ensure long term solution of food insecurity and hunger situation in Kilifi County is permanently installed.
